I need clarification on the manufacture of Cloth Diapers?

Im definitely going to go the route of cloth diapers, and I make my own. But there is so much information out there and I'm overwhelmed, I can not seem to find a summary of simple guidelines for this. So let me get this straight … 1. Choose a fabric in the frame two main layers. Choose a fabric insert to absorb all the urine 3 and everything else. Choose a fabric for use as a diaper cover, and can be removable or sewn into the rest of the layer. They are all correct or am I missing something?
